Our funeral directors are available 24-hours-a-day to assist you at the time of need. We can explain all the options available to you and your family, answer any questions, understand your needs, and offer outstanding service. Founded in 1922, by Mr. Houston J. Walker and his son, Allen H. Walker, Sr., Walker's Funeral Home has maintained a long history of helping those in their time of need. The business grew from a country store into the funeral home complete with a horse-drawn hearse. During that time the funeral home was located on South Churton Street just across from the old Courthouse. Today, the Hillsborough funeral home is located at 204 North Churton Street. Complete with a new fleet of automotive equipment as well as a newly remodeled chapel, the Hillsborough location carries on the Walker family tradition. With the Walker family name growing in the funeral industry, another location was opened in 1937 at 120 West Franklin Street in Chapel Hill and was run by Mr. Walker's son, Mr. Joe Walker. Then in 1946 another son, Mr. Marvin Walker, managed the Mebane location at 304 West Center Street. Mr. Allen H. Walker, Jr. succeeded his grandfather and father in the business.
With a rich history in the funeral business, Walker's Funeral Home has become a vital part of the communities it serves. Professional and compassionate staff members make Walker's Funeral Homes a hallmark in the funeral industry.
