Obituary of Jane Powell Rody

ORANGE Jane Powell Rody CHAPEL HILL - Jane Powell Rody, 81, of Chapel Hill, NC, died peacefully at home on May 16, 2013. Jane is survived by her husband, Martin J. Rody; her son, Marc PN Rody; and by her daughter, Kathy Rody Garbow. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Trevor and Matthew Garbow, and Drew and Heather Rody; and also by her cousin, Catherine Pendergraft. Jane was a nurse at the UNC Hospital where were assisted in the delivery of the first baby born in the UNC Hospital Emergency Room. She also served as nurse at the American University, The Department of the Interior and the Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C. She later volunteered at the UNC Hospital for over 18 years. A memorial service to honor and celebrate her life will take place at the Chapel of the Cross, 120 East Franklin Street, Chapel Hill, NC on May 20th at 2 p.m. Her preference was for a private graveside service.
