Dear Brian and Erin, I just heard about Brenda's passing and my heart is breaking for you both. Brenda and I went to Ryerson together, and I was overjoyed to reconnect with her through Facebook and in person at Christmas a couple of times when your family was in Toronto. She was always the outgoing one of our little posse and I was delighted to discover she hadn't lost her wonderful sense of humour, unparalleled story-telling ability, and joie de vivre all these years later when we got together. She spoke with great love about you both and I know you loved her just as fiercely. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sad to hear of Brenda’s passing. We worked together at Oshawa This Week in the 1980s. I clearly recall her passion, kindness, laugh and infectious energy and spirit, and how she always went out of her way to help me become a better writer and editor. Thoughts and prayers from Mary and I.

Brian and Erin, my thoughts are with you. May you find strength and comfort in the coming days. It's been over 25 years but I remember all the good times at the Era-Banner. Brenda was always a large part of that.

In life you are fortunate to meet people who truly make a positive impact on your life and the lives of others. Brenda was one of those people. A colleague, a friend and an inspiration. Brenda made our workplace a great place to be and our communities more responsible and caring. I will always treasure our friendship.

Dear Brian and Erin,
My deepest condolences. Just learned of my dear friend’s passing. Brenda has an amazing capacity for loving others. She always saw the best in people and challenges me personally to believe more deeply in my talent. Her writing lifted mine and she captured my voice in a unique way... sometimes writing a blog for me or editing a mess to bring it to life.
I know you will both carry her spirit in the spaces between this reality and the next where surely we will hear her signature laughter and gaze into those beautiful eyes again.
Peaceful thoughts winging.

She was one of best people I ever knew and I had no idea she was so sick. There was nothing she wouldn't do for a friend and no lengths she wouldn't go to for a worthy cause. The world has lost a force to be reckoned with. She was dearly loved.

Brenda was a most special person. Her kindness and generosity will never be forgotten by me and my family. My children always appreciated her amazing cooking and willingness to share with us. Her sense of humor always made me laugh and our little conversations in French made me smile. Her mulch-spreading talents were as Impressive as her talented writing skills. Brenda left a lasting mark on Yatesdale Court.

I knew Brenda from high school, back in hometown Cobourg. It comes as a shock to all of us back home and she leaves behind many heavy hearts, deeply saddened by her loss. Words fail me, as she was so much to so many. May you rest in peace my friend. You, and your infectious smile, will be missed. xox

Brenda Larson was such an amazing woman, it’s hard to imagine life without her. We met through Toastmasters, competed as lively rivals, and remained dear friends long after the contests ended.
Brenda’s wit and wisdom were surpassed only by her love and loyalty. She cared enough to be honest and then pitched in to help if there was repair work to be done.
I send my deepest and most heartfelt sympathy to Brian, Erin, and all who grieve this deep loss.

I’m heartbroken. Brenda was my supervisor at The News & Observer and probably one of the most positive, uplifting, intelligent, and caring persons I’ve ever known. She made a beautiful indelible mark on my soul and the world will be much less than it was without her. We shared a birthday, a love for eggplant Parmesan (after she turned me on to it), and a connection I like to think of as unique. But that was Brenda. She made everyone she met feel like they were the most important person in the world. My heart goes out to you, Brian and Erin. I know that Brenda’s love for life will go with you always!

Brenda was a very special person who always had a smile and a kind word for me. As a "next door neighbor' in our model home, I could have not asked for a nicer or better neighbor. As a second time homeowner with us, we consider Brenda family. My heart goes out to Brian and Erin during this difficult time. She will be sorely missed by all of us in Chapel Run.
