Regret to hear of Howard's passing. We worked together at WBTV in the Sales Dept.
Over the years we lost contact and I did not know he was located in the Triangle. My thoughts and prayers are with Kay and family.

Howard was one of a kind. We shared lots of laughs working together at WBTV and staying close during our NC broadcasting days in the 70’s and 80’s. He was dedicated to Kay and his children always and a terrific broadcaster.
My deepest sympathies to Kay, Alan and Leigh and your families. Howard was my friend. I’ll miss him.

Dear Kay,
Bill and I are grieving this morning at your loss of Howard. So many memories of our days together as neighbors on Monticello and watching Alan and Leigh grow up together with Felicia. Every time I see pictures of a Christmas wedding, I think of you and Howard at your wedding. I do believe we were meant to see the two of you together once again when we stopped at a fast food restaurant in Henderson on our way back from Felicia and Erik's house last summer. My social anxiety jitters kept me from running up and hugging you both (just in case I had the wrong couple!). Please know that we would love to be with you at this time but I am recovering from pneumonia and will have my third chest X-ray this coming week. We will keep you in our prayers and I will write to you at a later date.
Love,Bill and Priscilla

My cousin Howard will live on vividly in our family memories. We will laugh and cry when he 'enters the room' because he lives on in our hearts. God has welcomed him home, and Smith cousins rejoice in heaven. My love and sympathy to you Kay and to your family there with you. Love, Phyllis

Aunt Kay. Alan Leigh
As you know uncle Howard was more than just an uncle to me...with his special relationship to my mom and dad and the time he spent at church llegenliving with us and the time I was privileged to spend with you all in Charlotte
I have so many memories of Howard, the one I will touch on her is the time when we lived in St. Paul and he flew in to help mom drive to the family reunion at keuka lake (65) and we had lol the plans made and as he arrived he received notice he hat to report real quick back to the boat and we left and drove all the way to Dundee and then he left out of Elmira And of course he was legendary about stretching every dollar out to the fullest.......a great life lesson to be sure
As with all the other aunts and uncles it leaves a hole in the family to be filled with all the great memories his will be a little larger
I love you guys so much and am praying for your inner healing with this great loss

Greg and I are with you in prayers and thoughts Aunt Kay, Alan, Leigh and family.
A couple memories which immediately come to mind is the summer vacation on Keuka and Seneca Lakes . As a kid, Uncle Howard and his beautiful new wife, Aunt Kay, were so much fun to be around and he put up with us kids and played with us. Another memory is after college and on a trip for my first job, Uncle Howard and the family went out of their way so I could visit with them between work visits. I had a great time with Alan and Leigh who were pretty young then ;-) ...We'll miss you very much Uncle Howard but know you are enjoying the company of many siblings and cousins, parents, etc...Love to all, Patti and Greg
