Lily Lin-Lan Lee (nee Chiang) died peacefully in her home on March 30, 2019 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina after living with advanced lung cancer for over 2 years. She was 66 years old.
Lily was born on December 10, 1952 in Keelung, Taiwan to Ching-Tan and Mien-Mai Chiang. She was the eldest of 5 siblings. She was a graduate of the National Chengchi University in Taiwan with a degree in Commerce. She married Stephen Ching-Hwu Lee in 1977. In 1978, the Lees immigrated to Columbia, South Carolina where they raised their two sons and became US citizens in 1984. Stephen worked as a civil engineer, and Lily worked as an accountant. Lily retired in 2016 and moved along with Stephen to Chapel Hill, North Carolina where she cherished her remaining time with family.
Lily will be remembered for her selfless devotion to her husband and family. She worked tirelessly to provide for her family, but always made time for them. She was never short on sound advice for her children and was immensely proud of her grandchildren. Lily enjoyed taking walks for both exercise and enjoyment and spending time with her family who especially enjoyed her homemade cooking.
Lily is survived by her husband, Stephen of Chapel Hill, NC; her son, Dennis Lee of Brooklyn, NY; her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Becky Lee of Chapel Hill, NC; and her grandchildren, Andy, Caroline, and James Lee of Chapel Hill, NC.
