Obituary of Jon Dale Critchfield

Mr. Jon Dale Critchfield, 79, husband of the late Joyce Eleanor Critchfield, died Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Mr. Critchfield was born on August 3, 1940 in Shreve, Ohio, to the late William Perry and Sylva Lorain Stollar Critchfield.  He was raised in Shreve, and graduated from Kent State University.  Following graduation, Jon was employed for several years in the State Governmant of Ohio.  He proudly served his country in the US Air Force, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Mr. Critchfield is survived by his children, Nathan, Rachel and William, and his fiance, Susan Mallory; and grandchildren, Kayela Critchfield, Erin and Jordan Williams, and Sophia and Stanton Critchfield.

Mr. Critchfield will be interred in the Shreve Cemetery, next to his wife.  A memorial service is being planned in Shreve, Ohio, on a day and time to be announced.
