Obituary of Shawn Joiner Wilkerson

Shawn Lee Wilkerson of Hillsborough, NC, passed away in the presence of loved ones on November 12, 2019.

   Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on November 16, 2019 at Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough, North Carolina.  Sammy Ballard of First Baptist Church of Mebane will be officiating the services.  Arrangements are by Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough, North Carolina.  Visitation will immediately follow the memorial services.

   Shawn Lee Joiner was born to Mary & Joseph Edward Joiner on November 24, 1948.

   Shawn Lee is preceded in death by her mother Mary Williams Joiner her father Joseph Edward Joiner, Sr. and her brother Joseph Edward Joiner, Jr.

   Affectionately known was Memu to those close to her, Shawn Lee is survived by loving husband Charlie Maynard Wilkerson, children Heather Creighton Mitchell, Amber Creighton Booth, Robert Tulloh Creighton, III, Beth Wilkerson, Karen Wilkerson and Valerie Wilkerson Reyna, grandchildren Matthew Mitchell, Ethan Mitchell, Dalton Booth, Shane Booth, Ginnie Grady, Kendall Grady, Dillon Durham, Austin Durham, Kayla Durham and Max Reyna as well as great-grandchildren Sawyer Kerley and Colton Durham.

   If you knew Shawn Lee you loved her and if she loved you, you knew it.  There was not a person on this earth who loved her family more nor who had a more generous soul.  She gave countless blessings to others - especially when no one was watching.  She touched all of those whom she met with her wit, her unyielding selfless spirit and of course her sass.  Shawn Lee will be greatly missed by all of those who knew her.
