Obituary of Betha Anne Wade

CHAPEL HILL — Betha Ann Wade, age 88, of Chapel Hill, passed away on January 30, 2013 at Carol Woods Retirement Community. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, October 6, 1924, she was a 1942 graduate of Omaha Central High School. She was a Princess of Ak-Sar-Ben in 1950. Ms. Wade graduated from The University of Colorado with a BA degree in sociology, and an MS degree in business. Later she received an MS degree in elementary education from New York University and taught elementary school children for 25 years. Ms. Wade retired to Port Charlotte, Florida, living there 17 years before moving to Chapel Hill in 1995, where she resided in Carol Woods Retirement Community. Her activities included the League of Women Voters, American Contract Bridge League, Animal Shelter board member and volunteer, GED teacher, golf and gardening. Survivors include her cousin, Lee Wade, and his wife, Phyllis Wade. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Omaha, Nebraska.
