DO NOT FEEL ANGER WHEN THE NIGHT DRAWS NIGH
Herbert S. Harned Jr.
Do not feel anger when the night draws nigh.
Long years were golden, rife with work and play.
Praise, praise our love of life, as days pass by.
Nice friends saw rainbows arching in the sky,
Forecast impending clear, blue sky, and they
Do not feel anger when the night draws nigh.
Brave friends created standards to live by
Accomplished deeds and often led the way.
Praise, praise their love of life, as days pass by.
Rash friends who challenged those who were on high
And won the battles and drove fears away,
Do not feel anger when the night draws nigh.
Grave friends perceived with keen observing eye
Prospects of future peace with warfare far away.
Praise, praise their love of life, as days pass by.
And you, beloved, aware that death's nearby,
Blessed with your empathy and love today,
Do not feel anger when the night draws nigh.
Praise, praise our love of life as days go by.
