Betty and Jane, B. R. and I were room mates for a while at UNC. He was a kind loving man and a good man and a really good friend. He was sensitive and artistic and he began to experiment with my paints and brushes. He pruduced a small lainting of a red barn which he entered in the Chapel Hill art show. It was his first art show and he was so excited about that show!!! We kept in touch for years but then we got old and I guess life just got in the way and we stopped communicating regularly. I last spoke with him in June and July of 2020. I will miss him for the rest of my life. Betty and Jane, I will be thinking of you. Roger Norman

Miriam and Jane, Such a gentle soul. The one time I met BR was when he came to hear our Choir Festival choir sing in Chapel Hill. His appreciation of the music shone through his eyes. You have captured it in the photo posted here. My heart aches for you. May BR be at peace.
