To Mickey’s family: I knew Mickey at Old Dominion University where we were fraternity brothers, Kappa Alpha Order. I remember Mickey as a really cool guy, always smiling, and always ready for a good party. He had a super easy mannerism that made him easy to talk to and easy to approach. But the one think I’ll never forget about Mickey is that we shared the same birthday on the same year. One day many years ago when I was in Chapel Hill, I stopped in Spanky’s to say hello. Unfortunately, he was not there at the time so my last recollection of him was at the fraternity house on Colony Ave in Norfolk. My condolences to the family. Where it all started. there was never a doubt, Mickey had the service gene and a salesman's desire to represent the best. I partnered with him in 1975 to open "Harrison's" in Chapel Hill. He worked hard to establish himself as a force in the restaurant industry and it all paid off for him and the Chapel Hill community. Well done, my dear. You set the bar for those who will follow.

Always giving back to his Lord,his family, country and community. Mom gave him $10,000 from her $50 when dad passed when Mickey was a senior in high school when dad passed. After college, Army, career in sales in NY. He decided to use the money to create a business—-Harrison’s . This establishment was only the first in his career. He also was responsible for the liquor by the drink. Always remembering his Lord,, giving his 10% each week. Helping with membership for 3 churches and his bible study over 16 yrs. Mickey never forgot what mom did and on her 70th Mother’s Day he gave her her first car. A loving son God bless
