It is impossible to overstate the positive impact Pete had on my life. He was one of the first people I met when I started my editing job, and he was always amazingly helpful, friendly, and easy-going. I would always look forward to seeing his smiling face at the office on Team Lunch days and chatting about LEGOs. Pete was my professor at the University of Mount Olive. After that, he was my friend. We hadn’t spoken in a while. I spent a number of years with Pete during his OWU days in Ohio. After college we drifted apart as friends often do. But whenever I did hear from or run into him it was as if no time had passed. We were always going to be friends. Hearing of his passing is so shocking, and I am truly sorry for what his wife and children must now go through. Just remember Pete was loved far and wide by so many people whose lives he touched.

I was honored to work with Pete for over a decade at Research Square and AJE. He was such a kind and gentle spirit, always lightening a room with his positive attitude. I feel so much for Kristen and the boys in this loss. Pete will be missed by many, many people whom he connected with over the years. I loved hearing his stories, especially the ones about his Brazil trip a few years ago to help teach researchers about writing. We will miss you Pete. May God rest his soul.
