Dear Kristen, Andrew and Owen, May our dear Lord, Jesus Christ embrace you and comfort you. I am so sorry for the terrible accident that took your husband and father from you. What a tragedy! I pray that Peter be embraced in the heart of our Father in heaven and by the Apostle Peter, his patron saint, and that his soul is rejoicing with the angels to behold the face of Christ enthroned. Amen

I am saddened to hear of Pete’s passing. I have good memories of hanging out with him when we were kids living in Toronto. Facebook reconnected us—it was fun to see his posts and follow him and his family—it seemed he lived life to the fullest. Kristen, Andrew, Owen, Jim, Peggy, and other family of Pete—my thoughts and prayers are with you.

It is impossible to overstate the positive impact Pete had on my life. He was one of the first people I met when I started my editing job, and he was always amazingly helpful, friendly, and easy-going. I would always look forward to seeing his smiling face at the office on Team Lunch days and chatting about LEGOs. I will miss him dearly, and my heart goes out to Kristen, Andrew, and Owen and to all who called Pete family or friend. On behalf of the world, thank you for being you, Pete. You made the world a better place in so many ways.

Pete was my professor at the University of Mount Olive. After that, he was my friend. We hadn’t spoken in a while. Still, I hold close to my heart the things he taught me in the classroom, and in general. It is a privilege to have been his student and his friend. My heart is with his family. How lucky we all were to have known Pete. Rest well, my friend.

I spent a number of years with Pete during his OWU days in Ohio. After college we drifted apart as friends often do. But whenever I did hear from or run into him it was as if no time had passed. We were always going to be friends. Hearing of his passing is so shocking, and I am truly sorry for what his wife and children must now go through. Just remember Pete was loved far and wide by so many people whose lives he touched.

I was honored to work with Pete for over a decade at Research Square and AJE. He was such a kind and gentle spirit, always lightening a room with his positive attitude. I feel so much for Kristen and the boys in this loss. Pete will be missed by many, many people whom he connected with over the years. I loved hearing his stories, especially the ones about his Brazil trip a few years ago to help teach researchers about writing. We will miss you Pete. May God rest his soul.

He was always positive and always ready to listen - whether the topic was personal or professional. I was never fortunate enough to meet his boys, but my thoughts are with them and Kristin.
