Obituary of Philip Joseph Manuli

After a long battle with cancer, Philip Joseph Manuli, 76, died quietly at his home with his loving wife by his side. Phil was born in Yonkers, NY to Carmine and Rose Manuli. His childhood was spent in 1950’s New York enjoying his beloved Yankees. He graduated high school in 1962 and joined the Air Force. He served in the early stages of the Vietnam war as a jet engine mechanic and air combat support crewmen. After the war his job as a chemist brought him to Greensboro in 1973. He would eventually marry Myra Edmonds in 1987 and the two built their life in Mebane with Phil's boys, Steven and David. Once retired he spent his days in his shop and in his garden with a faithful pup always by his side. Phil is survived by his loving wife Myra, sons Steven (Cindy) of Elizabeth City, David (Amity) of Greensboro and his grandchildren Stephanie, Christopher, Alexander and Eleanor, and his pup Mickey. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother.
A funeral service will be held at Walker’s Funeral Home in Mebane on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 12:00pm with the family receiving friends from 11:00 – 12:00 prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in Mebane Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made in honor of Philip to The Wounded Warrior Project via woundedwarriorproject.org/donate.
