Though I never met Marigold in her earthly form, I know I will meet her one day. On behalf of your Maryland friends, I send my deepest condolences to you. I cared for Marigold during her time in the ICN. Never in my career have I encountered a family filled with so much love, compassion, hope, and kindness. Marigold felt the love and strength of Sarah and Matthew each and every day, as did all of us that cared for her. Although words are never enough in these times, I pray that the light of the Neely family never dim. May the Lord lift you up in strength and peace, my sincerest condolences and love to you all.

During her life, Marigold and her family made a huge impact on every single person that worked with them. From the day she was born- this little one had a fierceness, and so much fight for her. Alongside her, was her family- who loved her with everything and were there every step of the way to fight with her and for her. Know that your family has changed our unit for the better. I know I’ll be a better physician because of her and you. Words are never enough in these times- but May the Peace that surpasses all understanding surround you and your loved ones… and until we all meet again…. Our prayers are with you.

I had the privilege of taking care of Marigold while she was in the NICU. The larger honor was getting to work with such a sweet, dedicated and loving family. We all miss seeing them and the way that day in and day out they held vigil at her bedside, befriended all of us, and taught all of us about compassion and love.

THE TIME In the arms of Jesus, nevermore to roam, Mom and Dad, I’m sorry, but I had to go Home. Thank you for the love you gave while I was there; all the prayers and holds and clothes, oh what wonderful care! I could never want for more. My heart hurts knowing your hearts are feeling pain. Even though life’s been hard, I would do it all again. Now your lives will be simpler and so is mine. Never regret your having me-- it was for such a time: bringing people together in prayer and caring, more than just a mime. A time of learning, increasing faith as well. Training time, accepting time, loving time, seeking time. Six months of preparation to look beyond the veil-- God’s provision in me: Marigold. August 22-24, 2021 Gail Box Ingram At the Ponderosa, Valley Grande, AL In loving memory of Marigold, the daughter of Sarah and Matthew Neely who was celebrated , loved and prayed for by many all over America and the world. Marigold, a premature baby, lived for 6 months in the hospital in North Carolina. She had excellent care while on earth and is with her Heavenly Father now.
