Obituary of Johnny Thomas Holder

Mr. Johnny T. Holder, 67, of 1233 Jeffries Cross Rd. in Burlington passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at his residence. He was born on March 29, 1954 to the late Rex A. Holder and Dolly Partin Holder, both deceased. Johnny was married to Mrs. Sherry Holder. He was employed with General Electric, Durham Public Schools and Environmental Supply Company for many years. He loved being a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, Papa and brother to all. He loved his family and friends as well as hunting, fishing, gardening and Nascar. He was loved by all and will be missed dearly. Mr. Holder and his family were long time natives of Durham, North Carolina before relocating to Burlington in 2020.

Other than his wife, Sherry of the home; Johnny is survived by two daughters, Jamie Lynn Going and her husband Todd of Burlington, Christy R. Simmons and her husband Steven of Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina. He is survived by his grandchildren, Rebecca, Dylan, Savannah, Hannah, Adi, and Emi and also by his great grandchildren, Kyleigh, Maddie, Ian and Walker who is due in December 2021. Johnny is also survived by his siblings, Janet, Steve, Vickie and Barry and also he is preceded in death by one sister, Lori.

A funeral service will be held Friday, September 24, 2021 at 2:00pm at Walker’s Funeral Home in Mebane with the family receiving friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 3:45pm at Hopson Family Cemetery, on Broach Road in Durham, North Carolina.
