Obituary of Johnny Philton Atkinson

BURLINGTON - Johnny "Phil" Philton Atkinson, 48, of 1506 Morningside Drive, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 13, 2012 due to an unexpected illness. Phil was born on February 17, 1964 in Alamance County, son of the late John Alexander and Florence Burnette Atkinson. He was employed by Sweepstakes South Main Biz. Center and also helped survey land part time. During his lifetime he was helpful to others and at his death he was an organ donor so that other may live. He is survived by his sister: Jeanene Atkinson Wilson and husband, Mike; nephew: Matthew Dane Chilton and wife, Olivia; niece: Alyse Wilson; great nephew: Andrew Chilton; great niece: Andrea Chilton. He also leaves behind his long time girlfriend: Carol Lloyd and her three daughters: Jenna, Amber and Katelyn and their children: Moriah and Anthony. Memorial services will be held at Mt. Zion Christian Church by the Rev. Rick Webster on Sunday, November 4th at 1 pm. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service. In lieu of flowers family has requested memorial contributions to be made to Walker's Funeral Home in Mebane. Walker's Funeral Home, Inc., 304 W.
