Obituary of Jack Wallace Neville

Mr. Jack Wallace Neville, age 87, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at his home.
Jack was born in Person County to the late Thomas Reid and Nora Williams Neville. He moved to Carrboro in 1937 at the age of 3. Mr. Neville served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After his service in the Army, Jack married Evelyn in 1957. Jack and Evelyn built a house in 1962 in Carrboro where they enjoyed many years together. They were dedicated Christians that lived their lives to serve The Lord. They were married for 61 years. After Jack returned from the war, he worked in the maintenance department for UNC at Chapel Hill until he eventually retired. After retirement, he decided to work for McDougle Elementary in Carrboro, NC where he finally retired from his position as the janitor.
Survivors include his son, Tim Neville and his wife Alecia; daughter, Connie Crawford and her husband Doc; four grandchildren, Travis Rives and his wife Samantha, Andrew Crawford and his wife Megan, Michael Neville and his wife Jessica, Thomas Neville; seven great-grandhchildren, Eston C. Rives, Colton Rives, Connor Rives, Carson Rives, Miranda Crawford, Maeson Neville, and Dominik Neville.
Mr. Neville was preceded in death by his brothers, Junior Neville and Garland Neville; sister, Mabe Loinfard; step-sister, Mildred Jones; and step-brother, John Horne.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Westwood Cemetery in Carrboro. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Monday evening at Walker's Funeral Home in Chapel Hill from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
