I worked with "PT" from the time he joined the Durham Police Department until the time I retired in August 2001. I was both shocked and saddened at the news of his death. I will always remember "PT" as a professional and dedicated law enforcement officer. He displayed a kindness and gentleness not often seen in many people. I always enjoyed being in his company.
Not long before "PT" retired, I lost my Mother. My family and I were at the funeral home on the night of visitation when I looked up and there was "PT" He was the Watch Commander that evening and had come to pay his respects. I will always remember his kindness in that visit - but that was him.
I wish I had the words to ease the pain of your loss, but of course that is not possible. Just know that "PT" made a difference in the lives of so many and that his friends are here for you should you need anything. Please do not hesitate to call upon us if there is anything we can do.
