Obituary of Deborah Sparks Lee

Deborah Sparks Lee of Mebane, NC passed peacefully, but unexpectedly, Friday, September 23, 2022 at home.  Deborah was born in Greenville, SC to Frank Sparks and Hilda Alford on June 10, 1956, but resided in Durham, NC most of her life until moving to Mebane.

Deborah is survived by her husband of 25 years, Joseph Writz Sr., her children, daughter, Brandy Lee (Mike Baptiste), and her son, David (Liz) Lee, all of Mebane, N.C.  She is also survived by her amazing Granddaughters, Taylor, Brianna, and Amy Jo as well as her grandson Cody and honorary grandson, Jayden.  Her surviving siblings are Joseph (Lori) Sparks, Dennis Sparks, both of Washington and Jerry (Margaret) Sparks of Tennessee. 

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Hilda Sparks, her brothers, Bruce and Arthur and her son Larry Lamar Lee Jr. 

Deborah worked in retail most of her life and the circle of women she worked with at DG became like family to her. They all rallied around one another for celebrations and sorrows to be shared. They all made one heck of a team.  You know who you are and mom loved you gals. 

Funeral services will be on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Walker’s Funeral Home in Mebane.  Deborah will be cremated.  The family will take visitors in the Chapel right after the service.
