Obituary of Heather Elizabeth Ratliff

            Heather Elizabeth Ratliff, age 39, of Taylorsville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at her home.

            Heather was born May 1, 1983 in Orange County, NC, the daughter of Deborah Hazzard Gilbert and Duane Gilbert.

            Heather was a tender hearted, kind, and giving person. She loved children but didn’t have any of her own. She loved her three nephews, Jaxon, Zaedin and Sawyer she called them her little monkeys. Her warm smile was like a magnet. She never met a stranger and always wanted to help someone. She loved music of all kinds and loved going to concerts with her sister, she called “Sissy”. She loved her dog, “Jaxs” and called him her child.

            She was preceded in death by: her grandmother, Martharee Hazzard and uncle, Walter Vance Hazzard.

            Including her parents, those left to cherish and honor her memories include: her grandfather, Walter Wesley Hazzard; her sister, Amber Nicole Ratliff of Timberlake, NC; her brother, Gregory Gene Ratliff, Jr. (Heather Freshwater) of Graham, NC; and nephews, Jaxon Ratliff, Zaedin Huffman and Sawyer Ratliff.

            A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Noon, Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Antioch Baptist Church, 677 Antioch Church Road, Timberlake, NC 27583. Rev. M. David Chambers will officiate.
