Please accept my sincere condolences. It is hard to choose a favorite elementary school teacher, but Judy always rose to the top. She was a soul filled with love, laughter, and dedication. To say that she loved me like a mother is true, that she inspired me to excel and give of my talents an understatement. When I think of the generations of children she lifted to greater things, I think of a legacy of a life well-lived with love. She was admired by all, and her desire to bring out the best in everyone did not go unnoticed or unrewarded.

Tom, Martin and Emily and for Sandra, I loved Judy. Judy and Sandra were my very first friends. We lived across Ashe Ave. from each other in Newton and played every day. We had playhouses, played on our front porches and under the giant oak trees that grace that spot - now the Catawba Co. Library. When I think of Judy, I think of joy, friendliness, and her exuberance for knowing everyone and always being there. Everyone was of importance to Judy. We were not close during high school years, but I always knew she was there if I wanted to talk with her. In later years when I became an author she and Sandra were written about in three of my books. This gave us a chance to re-acquaint and to share lunches and talks. I will miss her greatly. Tom, Martin and Emily, I will always love this woman and will miss her every day. She had so much love to give. We live 1500 miles away and she was my best friend. Were majorettes in high school together, went to Appalachian together, she, Tom, and I were a threesome. She was in our wedding. We may not talk for 6 months, but, the closeness never faded. She cared for so many of her friends when they were ill. We were two peas in a pod. I will never forget her, always smile when I think of her. My sincere sympathy to you for your loss. Mr. Culbreth, Martin and Emily, So sorry for your loss! Mrs. C was such a wonderful woman and she was one of my favorite people on this earth. I love that woman! She was charming with a wonderful personality and actually giggled at my stupid humor. I shall always be a huge fan of Judy! Sending hugs to all of you! We are always here if you need anything.
