Mrs. French was an engaging, lively neighbor who showed genuine interest in others, a love of wildlife (including our four wild children) and nature, eagerness to serve and help, and a generous spirit. She was a role model for defining one’s own life.

UNC Aquatics is sad to learn about the loss of one our precious swim family members. Ms. French was such a beautiful woman who graced us with her positivity, smile, backstroke, and blunt opinion daily for nearly 60 years. She swam well into her 90's and serves as an inspiration to us all to keep moving every day. She is dearly missed in our Carolina blue waters. We love you, Ms. Virginia French!
