When I knew Kathryn, it was during the years of my daughters attending Burlington Christian Academy. when Her older son shared grade level with my older daughter. I came to know her a bit better when we attended a church in Graham that Stephen pastored in the late 1980s. Kathryn emanated a calm, kind demeanor. I remember her engaging smile, easy laughter, her devotion to her children and the visible support she gave Stephen. Behind her kind twinkling eyes I’m sure there was an abundance of wit, wisdom and grace, but she didn’t seek the limelight and I didn’t have the wisdom to learn from all she knew and would have shared. While I was terribly saddened to hear about her illness and passing, I’m sure that during her illness she gave more comfort to others than she sought for herself. I’m grateful to have known her and regret not knowing her better. My continued prayers for her family and friends who adored her…I’m sure there are many!

I was blessed to have Reverend Crotts as our Senior Minister at Greenville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Greenville , South Carolina for several years. Kathryn was always by his side offering her kind demeanor and support. She had such a beautiful presence. The last time I saw them was in downtown Greenville enjoying each other’s company at a quaint restaurant overlooking Falls Park with a picturesque view on a beautiful summer’s day. Her adoring husband stated that “it was a perfect afternoon sharing time with his beautiful wife with a glass of wine”.May these type of memories be treasured and cushion you during this time. I witnessed their love that afternoon and love of Jesus in their joint ministry . Bless all of the family. Sincere sympathy and condolences.

Pastor Crotts and family,
So sorry to hear of Kathryn’s passing. I always enjoyed our conversations during your time at Adams Farm Community Church in Greensboro. I was most impressed by her willingness to go on adventures with you whether it was hiking, camping or if my memory serves me right, white water rafting. Kathryn did not appear to be the adventurous type but she was willing to give it a go. May you find comfort knowing she is with Jesus now and you and the family will be joined again with her in glory.

Precious Kathryn remains deep inside my heart as I travel the memories she so lovingly created. Her writing as she followed every sermon, will live on in the many journals she kept. I cherish the time spent with our families. No one could pray as sweetly, as deeply in the Holy Spirit as our Kathryn.
Much love, Cynthia Ward
