I remember when he came home from the Korean War, I was about 6 years old and being just his niece, I didn't expect a gift from him, but he opened his bag and gave me a small box, inside was the prettiest set of Silverware from Japan. I still have it after 70 years. I seldom played with it because it was too pretty.

My wife Jerry and I send our condolences to Cecil’s family and to say I really enjoyed hearing him describing his service in the Korean War. He was a true hero and reading about him in the book Let Slip the Dogs of War was a treat. Our sincere thanks for his service and his memory will remain with us and I’m sure with many others.
