Obituary of Ruby Lee Costner

Ruby May Costner, 93, of Alamance County passed away May 8^th 2023, at White Oak Manor in Burlington. She was born September 11^th 1929 in Haw River, to the late John and Maggie May.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Marshall Costner, son,s  Richard May “Smoky”, Tommy Durham “Hook”, Ricky Durham “Tick” Her siblings James May “Bud”, John Richard May, Thomas May, Sammy May “Pete”, Clara May Price “Bill”, Edward May and John May Jr.  Her grandson Vernon May.

She is survived by her daughter Brenda Whitfield, sister Lorene Faucette “Sally” and brother Floyd May. Several nieces and nephews, seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

Her service will be held at Walker’s Funeral Home in Mebane Saturday May 13^th 2023.  Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM and service will follow afterwards. She will be laid to rest in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery in Efland.
