Obituary of Pansy Miller

On May 10th, 2023 Heaven gained an angel named Pansy Joyce Sykes Miller. She was 78 years old. She died from complications from COPD at Peak Resources in Graham NC. She was raised in Hillsborough NC. She graduated from Hillsborough High School, Class of 1963. She moved to Haw River, NC at age 20 when she married. She Worked at Burlington Industries until 1972 when she became a stay at home mom.

She loved working in the garden, and simply being outside. She was adamant about attending and being involved in her children’s interests, in school, sports, and otherwise. She continually put her children and husbands needs before her own.

She was proceeded in death by her husband of 54 years, Wayne Alton Miller. And also her mother and father, Albert Floyd Sykes, and Lucy Mae Sykes. Siblings, Nancy Carolyn Sykes Gentry, Floyd Harold Sykes Sr., Ray Darrell Sykes.

She is survived by her siblings, Annie Mae Phillips, Faye Keeter, Harriet Lanier, and her three children, Billy Miller of Haw River, NC, Scott and wife Tracey Miller of Haw River, NC, and Kimberly Miller and wife, Jess Lee of Oregon City, OR.

Also, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, along with 12 nieces and nephews. And then, 21 great nieces and nephews.

Visitation services will be at Walker’s Funeral Home in Hillsborough, NC Monday, May 15th, 6 to 8 pm.

Funeral will be held at the Gospel Tabernacle Baptist Church in Hillsborough, NC on May 16th, at 2 pm, followed by graveside service at Haw River Cemetery in Haw River, NC. She will certainly be missed, everyday.
