Obituary of Jackie Wade

Jackie Faye Harrelson Wade, 74, from Cedar Grove NC passed away on June 18th, 2023 at UNC Hospitals surrounded by her family.  She was the wife of the late James A Wade Jr. who predeceased her on April 23rd, 2023.  Jackie was a former hair stylist and retired from Suntrust Bank.  Jackie was an exceptional quilter and a member of the Cedar Grover Quilters.  Not only did she enjoy quilting, she loved the fellowship and friends she made.  Jackie loved traveling, especially with her BFF, Marilyn. As a member of Carr Methodist Church her faith and church family were very important to her.  She also loved her family and enjoyed her nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews as if they were her own. They loved her as much as she loved them.  She thoroughly enjoyed every Thursday with her beloved Hallie Katherine.  

Surviving is her sister Patricia Weaver, sister in-law Cindy W Shambley; a brother in-law, Jerry L Wade (Myra); nieces and nephews, Jennifer Pendergrast, Paul Davis (Diane), Ronnie Wahlers (Marie), Gary Wahlers (Yvonne), Todd Wade (Lori), Melissa W. Turbeville (Steven), Wade Shambley, and Rachel Burgess (Josh). Grand-nieces and nephews; Everett, Paul Jr, Christine, Hank, Kasi, Bradley, Sydney, Madison, Brandon, Mattie, Sarah, Hallie, James, and Henry. 

She was predeceased by her mother Florence Harrelson Phillips, father Roland Durant Harrelson, brothers Herman Harrelson and Wayne Harrelson, sister Aloma Jean Gainey, nieces Kelly Lewis and Gail Hodge, great-nephew Michael Hodge.

The funeral will be held 11 AM Friday June 23rd at Carr Methodist Church by the Rev. Ronnie Byrd and Rev. Clarence Toney.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation in the fellowship hall will follow the services.

The family is receiving family and friends at the home of Jimmy and Jackie Wade.
