Obituary of Dorothy Ashley Bennett

Dorothy A. Bennett passed in her home on July 15, 2023 in Hillsborough, N.C. at the age of 90 years.

She was born in Orange Co. to her parents Valley Cates Moore and Willy Ashley, Sr. She worked at Hillsborough Textiles and Cones Mills in Hillsborough. She Retired from Central Elementary School.

Along with her husband Lawrence James Bennett, they owned and operated Bennett's Mobile Homes Parks.

Dorothy Bennett is survived by her daughter Denise B. Morrison, her three brothers Allen Moore, James Moore and Edward Moore. Four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren with one on the way, two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence James Bennett, her daughters Joyce Talbert and Peggy Miller and two grandsons.

Visitation for Dorothy Bennett will be held at Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough on Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 6 pm until 8 pm, the funeral will be held at Walker's Funeral Home at 2 pm Friday, July 21, 2023 with a  burial to follow inside Rosewood Cemetery in Hillsborough.

The family is under the care of Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough.
