Obituary of Hiram Boyd Dodson

Hiram Boyd Dodson, Jr., 91 years, of Hillsborough, died at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill on Tuesday August 15, 2023 .

He was born on Monday, May 30, 1932 in Orange County.  He the son of the late Hiram Boyd, Sr.and the late Mary (Williams) Dodson. He was married to Mary Belle Hunt.  Hiram is survived by six children:  Melissa Roberson, Joan Dodson, Laura Dodson, Janet Fox, Boyd Dodson, Benny Dodson, and two sisters Shirey Davidson and Peggy Ritch and one brother Harold Dodson (Marie).  He is also survived by four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by wife Mary, parents, and brothers Edward, Larry, and  sisters Virginia and Gladys.   .

The funeral service will be held 3 P.M. on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Cane Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at 2 P.M. prior to the service.  Dress will be causal. 

Pallbearers will be Kenny Cahill, Michael Cahill, Terry Davis, Tony Davis, Benny Dodson, and Jimmy Knight.
