Obituary of Charles Bodwell Evarts

Charles Bodwell “CB” Evarts, age 69, passed away peacefully at UNC Health Care on Monday November 20th. He was born in Middletown, Connecticut on February 28th, 1954, to his parents, Doris “Dotte” Evarts and Garth Evarts.

CB is survived by his brother Jeff Evarts (Lori), niece Abigail Durham (Lloyd) and nephew Joshua Evarts (Emma) along with a grandnephew and grandniece, and several cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents Garth and Dotte along with his brother Steven Evarts.

CB graduated from Chapel Hill Senior High in 1972. He eventually went to work for the family business at “Eastgate Hardware” and was employed there for several years. He was a recent resident of the SECU Community House in Chapel Hill.

The family would like to thank the many neighbors and friends of CB for helping him during difficult times. They would also like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Community House for all that they did for him.

A visitation will be at Walker's Funeral Home in Chapel Hill on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 3:00PM to 5:00PM.
