Jack and I grew up in the First Methodist Church together. We were in the same Sunday School classes, Young Youth group up to fifth grade, our youth pastor got the boys to cook a spaghetti dinner for the girls. They did a good job and we all had fun. We were in the children’s choir together. Jack was always happy and friendly to everyone. Such a great boy. Not ce to know he had a great life. Sandy Henderson Foster

My earliest memory of Jack was around the time we first became brothers. We were just getting acquainted with the changes in our family structure and decided to take a bike ride. Jack led the way out to Newcombtown Road where he used to live. He showed me the neighborhood and introduced me to his former neighbors, the Peoples. It was a very hot summer day and Mrs. Peoples graciously offered us an ice cold coke. Having been brought up on mostly water and milk it was a real treat and to this day the best coke we ever had. At least we thought so at the time. It was great getting to know him then and all the years in between. We both played on the undefeated Garton's midget league football team. (a team picture still hangs in Jim's Lunch). I remember both of us being asked to return to the field after another lopsided win to be weighed again after a challenge from the losing coach (we both passed). Out secret was having a former NFL player as a coach (John Lookabaugh). While we both went on to play for the Millville varsity it was Jack who truly made a name for himself on the football field. The experience served him well as he married well. overcame all obstacles life can throw at you. and successfully raised two great sons. I've added a picture from around 1962 when President Kennedy was pushing physical fitness and encouraging 50 mile hikes. Myself (with the really really long jeans), Bobby Jenks (the ministers son), and Jack decided to hike from Haddonfield (where Jenks had moved) to Millville. I remember it was a really long day but it got our picture in the newspaper. I will greatly miss you and the occasional inappropriate emails and birthday phone calls. RIP

Randall and I are so sad to hear this news. Carol, you & Jack always welcomed us with open arms and made a 2nd home for Galen. Even though we didn’t see each other as often in later years, you’ll always have a special place in our hearts. Linda & Randall

Carol, We were so shocked to hear about Jack's passing. When we moved to our home, our back yards joined. You all have been like family and neighbors to us for more than 40 years. Our memory goes back to who can grow the best garden to our boys growing up together. Jack will truly be missed. We want you to know that we are here for you. If there is anything that you need or want please do not hesitate to call upon us. God has blessed you with two wonderful sons, Ryan and Dylan who will never leave you. God will not put more on you than you can bear. " Weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning."
LOVE, Ken, Liz, Kendra and Jason Davis

Jack and I have been good friends since our youth. Along the way our spouses and children became great friends. He and Carol along with their oldest son Ryan moved to N.C. in the early 70's. We remained good friends over the years staying at each others homes during visits. They had their 2nd son Dylan in Carolina, while Bonnie and I had our two boys here in Jersey. Our sons both went to school in NC so we visited the McDonnell's every trip to see our boys and later our 1st grandchild.Their family is a part of ours and Jack will be greatly missed by all of us. May
