My wife Janet and I first met Marlyse in the fall of 1971. She was in charge of the library at a high school in Lunéville (Eastern France) where I taught maths. Janet introduced Marlyse to all things American. A few years later Marlyse got a job as a lectrice in a French lycée in the US of A. Her American adventure had begun.
From then on, we met on either side of the Atlantic. We were there when she married John in Paris. It is very hard to summarize 53 years of friendship. She was one of a kind ; she was our friend.
We shall miss her.
