Obituary of MaryAnn Kingsley

MaryAnne Kingsley, age 92, died on February 10th, 2024 at Peak Resources Brookshire, in Hillsborough, North Carolina. She was born on January 21, 1932, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to the late Marie A. and Stanley F. Rawa.
MaryAnne graduated Academy High School, and Mercyhurst College with a B.A. in Biology in 1953 and taught mathematics at Wilson Junior High School from 1953 to 1955. She married Ross W. Kingsley on December 26, 1955, in her hometown of Erie, Pennsylvania.
They then moved to Philadelphia where Ross attended medical school and she supported him and bore the first two of their three children. Upon Ross ‘s graduation the couple moved to Ohio. There they bore their third child and together opened a family medical practice in Vermilion, Ohio. MaryAnne acted as lab technician, office manager and gatekeeper for the next 37 years. She was president of the Ohio Osteopathic Association Women’s Auxiliary. She was also active in the local community as a Girl Scout troop leader, substitute teacher, private tutor and first mate on the sloop Pinafore II.
After retiring, they moved to Oriental, North Carolina and later to Durham, North Carolina. MaryAnne was an active member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Oriental and then of St. Benedict's Anglican Catholic Church in Chapel Hill.
She is survived by daughter Carla Kingsley, D.O. and husband John Ribic, D.O. of Helena, Montana, son Kurt Kingsley and wife Evangelia Kingsley of New York, New York and daughter Kimberly Kingsley and husband Andrey Tsigler of Hillsborough, North Carolina.
