Bryden was a dear, caring, and loving friend. She was one of those few folks who was both courageous and compassionate. She was a fierce warrior when someone needed help, and at the same time always ready with a hug. The first time I met Bryden we were sitting together on the floor of a YMCA. Both of us had sons named Chris and they played on the same basketball team. We spent that season cheering our sons and commiserating about the referees' bad calls. As our friendship grew, we would often eat lunch together with the "Pizza Day" group. When Bryden moved to Southport I helped her pack up her old house and we watched as her former office house was moved in the name of progress. I got to visit Bryden some over the years that she lived at the beach; sometimes she would come back to Burlington and several times I was able to make the trip to visit her in Southport. I remember how much Bryden liked hot sauce. We often went to Mexican restaurants where she'd inevitably order the taco loco and douse it with hot sauce. I tried it once and thought I burned my tongue. Anyone who knew Bryden, I know, loved her. I will miss her a lot. I'm sending love and prayers to Chris, Karen and your family. Dot Hutelmyer
