Obituary of James Marshall King

James Marshall King, age 77, passed away, Friday, May 31, 2024, at his home.

Mr. King was born on August 27, 1946, in Durham, NC to the late Hoyle and Lillian King. He was married to Linda Ann King. James was known to most as Jimmy.  He attended Aycock High School but was officially the first graduating class from Eastern Alamance High School in 1964. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Mebane for 28 years until he retired in 2006.

Jimmy’s true passion was Mopar Muscle cars. Restoring classic cars to their original glory was a hobby he took great pride in accomplishing. Jimmy was an active member of Faith Baptist Church in Efland.

He is survived by his wife, Linda King; daughter, Crystal King; son, Todd King; step-son, Chad Blackwood; brother, Ray King; sister, Phyllis Martin; and half-brother, Mike Hargis.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Faith Baptist Church, 5100 West Ten Road Efland, NC 27243. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 AM – 1:45 PM, prior to the service.
