Know Philip from his auctions and think I bought the last carport he ever sold, it was installed day he died. Very sorry to know Philip passed. I thought a lot of this man, always polite, friendly and a very honest person. RIP Philip with the angels watching over you.

Phillip and I grew up as neighbors. Riding bikes together, falling, scraping knees, mama bandaging us up. Great country days memories. He was the nicest guy, friend and Santa to many.
Diane and Jennifer, my thoughts and prayers go out to you both. He is rejoicing now, that's our comfort as Christians.

So many memories of our friend!
He was a mentor to me at the race tracks back in the 80’s and he helped me tremendously in the auction business over the last 20 years. He jumped in with both feet a few years ago to help Bill Mangum keep the Virginia-Carolina Early Dirt Racer’s Association going and recognize the real hero’s of the sport for their contributions to the early years of racing locally regionally and nationally.
Racing has lost a real treasure but we have all lost a True Friend.
I will definitely miss you, your advice, funny stories but most of all your friendship.
God Speed Phillip!
Prayers for Diane, Jennifer & Bryant.

Phillip surely played a part in my young life as a boy. Phillip was our neighbor and worked with my Dad at the Volunteer Fire Department. My family and I spent countless evenings at the Orange County Speedway, eating Balogna Sandwiches, and cheering Phillip on for a win! What a legend.
My heart goes out to all of his family. May the fact that he lived such a passionate and rich life, be some solace for your loss.

Got to know Philip at Duke when he was in DHIS and represented IBM. The fact I married a Walker from Caldwell played somewhat in sponsoring his racecar 'FlueFire. Philip possessed so many attributes of human attraction 'he could draw flies to the paper'. His charm and personality along with his many accomplishments will be cherished memories to all that knew him. There will be racing and molasses fior sale in heaven. See ya there Philip!
