Obituary of Wendy MacLeod

Wendy Ellen Jordan MacLeod, 71, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at her home in Hillsborough. She was born in Pike, AL to the late William Edward and Louise Jordan. In addition to her parents, Mrs. MacLeod was also predeceased by her husband, Robert Scott MacLeod, and her brothers, William Jordan Jr. and Ned Jordan.

Dr. MacLeod was a retired national medical director and former pediatrician with a Doctorate in Medicine. She was a graduate of the University of Alabama, Birmingham Medical School, practiced medicine in Bay Minette, AL, then went on to become a medical director.  She maintained her medical licenses in Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and North Carolina throughout her long career, and pursued an MBA in biomedical informatics at Northwestern University. She retired in late 2021. She had many hobbies including writing science fiction novels, wood-working, luthiery, and inventing slippers for donkeys and horses.

Dr. MacLeod is survived by her daughters, Kate MacLeod and Chelsea MacLeod (and spouse Matt Singer); brothers, Henry Jordan and Terry Jordan.

A service will be held at Walker’s Funeral Home in downtown Hillsborough at 1:30PM on September 2, 2024 followed by the burial at New Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery in Hillsborough on September 3, 2024 at 10:00AM.
