Obituary of Peggy Sue Mangum

Peggy Sue Mangum (Cannady)

June 20, 1927 - September 13, 2024

Peggy was the last of a very large family.  Her father, Obe Iredell Mangum, was married first to Nannie Pearson Mangum.  They had eleven children: William Clarence, Lola Pearl, John Wesley, Edward Whorton, Eula Belle, Rosa Leigh, Hoyle, Odell, James Allen, Bessie Mae and Helen Louise.  After Nannie's death, O.I. (Bud) married Lucy Pulliam Mangum.  They had six children: Calvin Iredell, Ruth Opal, Frank Dupree (Jack), Obe Iredell Jr., Peggy Sue and Phyllis Carol.  

Peggy was also preceded in death by her son (in law), Samuel Ashley Latta.  

She is survivied by her children: Landa, Brent, Landis, Deborah; her grandchildren: Michelle "Missy", Scott, Michael and Charlie; great grandchildren, Jackson and Erica.  There are many nieces and nephews to the 6th generation and finally her "Bestest Buddy" sandy Combs. 

Funeral services for Peggy will be at 3:30PM on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Hillsborough Town Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Amedysis Hospice located at:   2975 Crouse Ln, Burlington, NC 27215.
