In 1984 Skip was promoted to Station Manager at Memphis International Airport, moving the family to the small town of Collierville, TN, where they lived for five years. Move three took the family north to Dayton, OH where Skip was Station Manager and served out a twenty-eight-year career with TWA retiring in 1996. After his retirement Skip and Lynne with Curt still at home moved to Cary, NC.

It was there that Skip took up a second career working as manager of the sporting goods department at the Cary WalMart retiring after 15 years.

Skip was an avid sports fan playing baseball in high school and later coaching his sons’ baseball teams and cheering them on at their basketball and soccer games. As the boys grew and attended college his interest turned to the TN Vols and Carolina Tar Heels. His favorite professional teams were the LA Dodgers, Green Bay Packers, and Boston Celtics.
