Obituary of Judith Adcock

Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

     Judith "Judy" Adcock died at UNC Hospice House on October 25 2024 in Pittsboro, NC due to complications from cancer.  She was 78 years old.

     Judy was born in Galax, VA on December 9, 1045 to her parents, Clinton Davis and Mary Davis Morris.  She graduated from Radford University with a degree in Nursing.  She was married to Norman Adcock.  They lived in Roanoke, VA and then moved to Carrboro, NC in 1976.  She worked in various facilities before becoming the first Sports Medicine nurse at UNC.  After retiring, she was very involved with her church family.

     Judy referred to herself as "just a country girl" but was so much more.  She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.  She was also an exceptional nurse who loved her athletes she called her kids.  She was also an exceptional cook and very active in the church.  

     Judy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Joyce Adcock of Mt. Pleasant, NC; her daughter, Rebecca Wells of Carrboro, NC; and her two grandchildren, Will and Elena Adcock.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Adcock.  

     Judy will be buried on November 7, 2024.  There will be a memorial service at Walker's Funeral Home of Hillsborough followed by a graveside service and then a reception at Hillside Church located at 201 Culbreth Road, Chapel Hill, NC  27516.  Walker's Funeral Home of Hillsborough is honored to assist the Adcock family.
