Please share a memory of Anne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anne Boyles Justus, 70, of Chapel Hill, NC, departed the Earth on Saturday, October 26, 2024, following a courageous battle against brain cancer.
"Annie Bee" was born June 4, 1954, in Winston-Salem, NC, to Harley Gray Boyles and Dorothy Rae Wilson Boyles, the second child of five and first of three daughters.
She held several jobs after graduating from West Forsyth H.S., Clemmons, NC, in 1972. Her favorite was as Manager of subspecialty credentialing at the American Board of Pediatrics in Chapel Hill, where she excelled for 38 years. Her work there was very rewarding and much appreciated by the ABP staff.
Anne enjoyed playing the card games Rook, Spite & Malice, and Canasta with family members. She was also an excellent cook and was incredibly proud of her pound cake, deviled eggs, baked beans, potato salad, and punch.
Anne was an avid supporter of her beloved UNC Tar Heels. She lived and breathed Carolina Blue.
She was a dedicated and loving mother to her two daughters, Jill and Jordie, and a doting MeMe to her three granddaughters: Harlie Rae, Hattie Anne, and Caroline Kate.
Anne is survived by her husband, Scott E. Justus, of the home; daughters Jill Marie Justus of Durham, NC and Jordie Justus Kerwin (Patrick) of Hillsborough, NC and their three daughters; brothers Keith Boyles (Dora) of Goose Creek, SC and Blake Boyles of Yadkinville, NC; sisters Dale Boyles Darnell (Cliff) of East Bend, NC, and Jamie Boyles of King, NC along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by brother-in-law Greg P. Justus of Gray Court, SC, and sister-in-law Joy Renner (Jordan) of Saxapawhaw, NC.
The family wishes to offer special thanks to Dr. Dominique Higgins and Dr. Sierra Smalley of UNC Neurosurgery, Dr. Soma Sengupta of UNC Neuro-Oncology, and Nurse Sandy Walker for their excellent care, concern, and treatment for Anne.
