Juliette Rattelade Roberts

Juliette Roberts died in her sleep at her home in Hillsborough, NC on 5/11/12. She was born in West Warwick Rhode Island in 1924. She was the middle child born to Aleandria Dubuc Rattelade and Julien Rattelade. She grew up in Durham, NC and graduated Durham High School in 1942.
As a young woman Juliette worked in Washington, DC for the FBI. She also worked in Germany for the United States Military Government after WWII as a photographer documenting the destruction of the aftermath of the war. During this time she traveled Europe extensively and has many photographs documenting her time there. In 1962 she married her love, Reid Roberts of Hillsborough. They were married for 40 years until his death in 2002.
She was loved and cherished by her family and is survived by her daughter Sandra Ann Roberts of Hillsborough NC, stepdaughters Catherine Roberts, Charlotte, NC, Nancy R. Holmes, Greensboro NC, Stepsons Larry Roberts, Hillsborough NC, Thomas Roberts, Myrtle Beach SC and Steve Roberts Hillsborough NC as well as 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Juliette has been described as noble, self-sufficient, outspoken, hard-working, and a fiercely strong woman. She will be greatly missed by her family and loved ones.
Visitation will be Sunday night, May 13, 2012 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough. Funeral services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 216 Gov Burke Rd, Hillsborough, NC on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at New Sharon United Methodist Church, 1601 New Sharon Church Rd, Hillsborough, NC.
