Obituary of Donald Gregory Wright

Donald Gregory “Greg” Wright, 62, passed away on January 17, 2025.

A native of Cedar Grove, he was the husband of Lisa Carden Wright and son of Brenda Aldridge Wright, who both survive. He was proceeded in death by his father, Joseph Hoyt Wright and twin grandsons, Reid and Rhett Allen. He was a dedicated employee of AKG of America in Mebane for 35 years. He enjoyed life on the family farm, fishing on the NC coast, and watching western movies.

In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include Allison Mooney and husband Travis, Melanie Allen and husband Dillon; sister Denise Vaughan and husband Frankie; and three grandchildren Laci Fisher, Mac Allen, and Drake Allen, all of Cedar Grove, NC. He also had several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted at Carr Methodist Church on Thursday, January 23rd at 2:30pm by Rev. Ronnie Byrd with the family receiving friends from 1:00pm to 2:15pm. Burial will follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Samaritan’s Purse for Western North Carolina or to Carr Methodist Church at 8200 Highway 49, Cedar Grove, NC 27231.
