Obituary of Theodore Merton Albert

Theodore M. Albert June 23, 1927 - March 12, 2012 Chapel Hill Theodore ("Ted") M. Albert, 84, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Ted was born in Brockton, Massachusetts in 1927, the son of the late Dora and Charles Albert. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. Ted graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Master's Degree in Information Science. He had a long career with the U.S. Geological Survey in Washington, D.C., as a computer scientist. After his retirement from the government, Ted continued to lead a full life enjoying golf, spending time with his golf buddies, and traveling the world with his loving wife, Florence. Ted is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Florence R. Albert, of Chapel Hill; his son, Scott Albert (and wife Lynne) of Chapel Hill; his daughter, Candace Agoos Lehmann, of St. Louis, MO; and five grandchildren: Samantha Agoos, Charlie Agoos, Evan Lehmann, Josh Albert and Cammie Albert. He was preceded in death by his infant granddaughter, Taylor Albert. The family plans a private funeral at Maplewood Cemetery in Durham. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mitzvah Fund at the Judea Reform Congregation in Durham or a charity of your choice.
