Obituary of Charles Graham Spoonhour
Please share a memory of Charles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
"Charlie" peacefully left us Wednesday February 1, 2012 in Chapel Hill, NC, at home, surrounded by his family. Charlie is survived by his wife of 25 years, Vicki; two sons, Jay, 41, wife Nicole, of Moberly, MO; Stephen, 37, wife Lisa, of Leawood, KS; and five grandchildren, Grace, 8, Charles, 6, and Samuel, 2, of Moberly, MO; Michael, 10, and Shea, 2, of Leawood, KS. Charlie was more than a terrific basketball coach; he was a loving husband, caring father, beloved grandfather and loyal friend. People who spent time with him were able to share his sense of humor and passion for life. Charlie's wishes were not to mourn his passing but cherish the gift of life. Services will be private. An invitation to share memories will be forthcoming. Details will be provided on CaringBridge.com/visit/charliespoonhour. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to be made to Hospice and local Animal Rescue.
Thank you everyone for sharing your personal experiences regarding Charlie. It is comforting to know he touched so many lives. As some of you may know, Charlie is to be inducted into the Missouri Valley Hall of Fame during the MVC Tournament in St. Louis. He considered this a great honor. We will be having an "Invitation to Share Memories", Sunday, March 4th, 3 to 7 pm at Tucci & Fresta's Trattoria and Bar, 15 North Central Avenue, Clayton, MO 63105. 314-725-6588. You are welcome to stop by and celebrate Charlie's life.
