To the Lee's below- I wanted to thank you so much for sharing that story with us. I found your post the other day and it warmed my heart. I shared it with some of Jessie's other friend's and we are all touched that you took the time to find out who the balloon belonged to and share it with us. It means more than we can explain to know that she is still touching people's lives. She truly was an amazing person and your prayers mean so much. Just wanted to share this.....when my husband and I arrived home from work yesterday (Aug 13) we noticed something shiny in the field in front of our house. It was a metallic orange balloon with writing on it. The writing was: "In Loving Memory...Jessie Lynn Sturms....Happy Birthday....my superhero." I googled the name and found this site and found out who the balloon was for. I was so saddened to learn what happened to this young lady. From what I've just read she was much loved by many people. I just wanted her family and friends to know how far her birthday balloon traveled! We live in Vance County...several counties to the east of Hillsborough. It is just so touching that the balloon flew so far through God's beautiful sky and floated down near us. I'm a Christian and I believe God has a plan for everything. I will pray for God's continuing comfort for all those who mourn the loss of this precious life.

Jessie I can't even put into words how much I miss you, your smile, your laugh, your jokes, your hugs and kisses, your everything. It breaks my heart knowing I don't have my superhero here with me now but I know you're in a better place baby. If I learned one thing from you it was to just be myself and not to change that for anybody and I'm going to try to keep doing that. We all miss you so much, but we'll see you again in time. I've known Jessie for so long since middle school! Everytime I think about her, memories from over the years flood my mind. It is so tragic that such a free-spirited, loving, energetic, unique woman has left our world at such a young age. I, along with everyone else who was touched by Jessie in their lives, will always have a place in my heart for her, and will never forget her and her amazing personality!
