Obituary of Lucille Edwards Lloyd

Lucille Edwards Lloyd, born June 15, 1913, passed away Saturday, October 1, at the age of 98. She was a wonderful mother and passionate about her family, friends and her Lord. Residing in Chapel Hill all her life, Lucille is predeceased by her husband, William Arthur Lloyd, a WWII veteran, at age 60 in 1973, and by three sisters and one brother. One living sister, Maxine Talbert, resides in Chapel Hill. Lucille was the mother of one daughter, Patsy Lloyd Jones of Raleigh, widow of Marvin Jones. Her surviving son, William Ronnie Lloyd and wife, Dana Griffin Lloyd reside in Chapel Hill. Surviving grandchildren are Shannon Jones Shackelford of Raleigh, William Brian Lloyd of Holly Springs, and Melissa Lloyd Marotta of Apex. Her four great grandchildren are Jesse and Tanner Shackelford, and Ciera and Zoey Lloyd. All services will be held on Tuesday, October 4, at Walker's Funeral Home, 120 West Franklin, Chapel Hill. Friends will be received at 1:00 followed by the funeral service at 2:00. The interment will take place at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Walker's Funeral Home of Chapel Hill is assisting the Lloyd family.
