David and his family were neighbors of mine in Heritage Hills way back when I was in 6th grade. I was having family troubles but both David and Alan were great friends. I hope they knew that they really made a lasting difference.

David was a board member and artist at Visual Art Exchange for years. We have wonderful memories of him at the non-profit gallery. He was always willing to help with projects and was always so cheerful and full of creative ideas. He will be missed!

I will always remember David as a kind and loving person. I first met him shortly after we moved to Chapel Hill in 2004. David had worked in the NAMI State office before I started in 2005. I asked to meet him for lunch one day and that is when I also learned about his beautiful gallery, Points of View. I purchased a photograph of his that showcases gorgeous trees on the Dix Campus. Brent also got to meet him one evening as we strolled the Art Walk in Raleigh and he joined us for a drink at Amra's. He was such a delight to hang out with and I regret that I didnt keep up with him as I'm really bad about that with my friends. My thoughts and prayers are with all of David's family and friends. he will be missed

I first knew David at Binkley church as one of the many happy, fun loving and friendly children in the congregation and as Barbara's son. I got re-acquainted with him several years ago when he did some photography for me at a political event. He was still the warm, friendly person I remembered; but had grown into a talented photographer, capable business owner and community activist. Every time I saw him, spoke with him or exchanged emails, he was fully engaged in life and excited about what he was doing. His time with us was a blessing to many people. Verla Insko

David will always live in my heart. He was such a warm and caring person who had many wonderful ideas to make this a better world. He was so generous and compassionate. David graciously donated photos for Club Horizon in Knightdale, a program for people with chronic mental illness.

Growing up in Heritage Hills in Chapel Hill you got to know all of the kids that were your neighbors, even if they lived clear on the other side of it. That's how I lucked out and got to meet Wyatt, Viki, David and Alan. I found David to be a very kind loving person who liked to go on neighborhood adventures. I also had the honor of going through Culbreth Jr. High and Chapel Hill High with him because David was exactly my age. He came to one or two of our class reunions over the years and I had talked to him a couple of years ago. I am so very glad I got to see him again, as he crossed my mind from time to time. On behalf of the Class of 1976 CHHS, farewell to our beloved classmate and friend. Lee Olsen Landers

David was a patient in our dental office for many years. We have several of his beautiful photos displayed in our reception area. I remember David as a kind and gentle man who always had a nice word to say and a smile when he came in. I know he will be missed by all who knew him. Our staff was saddened to hear the news of his passing.
