Dearest Sarah and family members, At this point I’m still so shocked about Keith’s death all I can think to say is...I’m so sorry. Yesterday morning I went on line to look at Keith’s Christmas Scheduke only to find information about his passing. I’m still not over this shock as I’m am certain that none of you are either. I remember well having him perform at The Cotton Room in Durham forvmy 67th Birthday. It was at that time I found out his birthday was on the 23rd of December and mine is on the 21st of December. My friends and relatives that attended are still talking about him, his voice and what a great time they had at the party. It is a birthday party that I will NEVER forget! Especially the part whereby I was able, along with 3 of my girlfriends, were his back up singers. such a wonderful night. Bill & I also attended some of his performances carrying friends with us and ALWAYS had such a great time! I have a hearing impaired friend who is also a musician and about 10 years ago, I was giving him a ride and was listening to one of Keith’s CD’s and I asked him who he thought the singer was. He didn’t hesitate and said, Elvis, but thought Elvis’s Voice sounded much better than he remembered”. When I told him it was a local artist he was stunned.
Please know that I will never forget Keith and the joy he brought to me personally with his music live and on his CD’s. I remember the fundraiser WR attended at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church raising money to pay for the new fellowship hall. That was a wonderful evening too! Sarah, Bill & I could tell how close you two were and you have always been a huge part of him going public with his beautiful voice and talent. My Bill has been gone 3 years this past 11 November...I understand what you are going through. I am here for you.
If I had known I certainly would have attended his service.
