Obituary of Thomas Wingate Lloyd

Mr. Thomas W. Lloyd, Jr. (T.W.), age 87 died on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. He was married to Edna Womble Lloyd who preceded him in death. Mr. Lloyd was the son of the late Thomas Wingate Lloyd Sr. and Emma Julia Lloyd both from Carrboro. He was employed and retired with the UNC Grounds Department and was a Veteran with the US Army in WWII. He is survived by his daughter: Sheryl W. Lloyd, his son: Thomas Earl Lloyd and his wife Ann, three grandchildren: Molly Ward, Erica and Ryan Lloyd all of Chapel Hill. In addition to his wife, T.W. was preceded in death by his brother Henry Russell Lloyd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery fund or Carrboro United Methodist Church Prayer Garden Fund. The family will be receiving friends at T.W.'s house located at 116 Oak St. in Carrboro on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 at Westwood cemetery.
